Gem Source Inc. – Diamonds in Lexington KY

Gem Source was founded in 1989 by Jim Salyer, a registered gemologist (GIA) from Lexington, KY, With the emphasis on high quality genuine gems, sapphire, emerald, diamond, etc., and finely crafted custom jewelry. Jim felt the tradition of celebrating key moments in peoples’ lives with gifts of fine jewelry, future heirloom pieces, should be held to higher standards than the usual price point merchandising and marketing often used by typical jewelry outlets.

Gem Source is still a family owned and operated single store operation, employing Jim & Gerry Salyer and their two sons, Ian and Lucas. Gem Source moved to its current location at 368 Southland Drive in Lexington in 2001.
